DANCERS WITH BAD BREATH

You just finished dancing this awesome Salsita with a nice guy (or girl if you are a guy). And then a new guy comes and asked me to dance... ok, it was okay until he opened his mouth to asked me something, YEEEWWWW! RIGHT THERE, I could smell what he had for DINNER! Seriously!

Let's talk about people that have bad breath on the floor. This is a problem that doesn't happen often to girls, but more to guys... C'mon let's face dudes, you know it's true. Even worse when we know that guys sometimes love to sign the song to the girl when dancing! It's like they want to serenate to us or something... this is nice, but when you have bad breath... HELL NO! It's a torture more than anything. In fact it could be a cruel punishment during the whole song.

If you think about it though, it's not that bad. In fact, it's very fixable!

IF IT'S YOUR DANCE PARTNER

Alright, if you are dancing with someone who happens to have bad breath, I know it sounds bad and rude, but it's actually GOOD for you to tell him/her that she has a bit of bad breath. Now, I am not saying to tell him/her: "Hey You have bad breath!"... no no no... there are easier ways to let him/her know about this little problem (although it could be a big problem sometimes!)

Just follow the following, it works like a charm.
  • First, don't tell him/her on the middle of the song. Be polite and finish the song, even if it's garlic with onions what he/she had for dinner.
  • Right after the song, pull him/her aside somewhere.
  • Very gently, tell him/her that they smell a bit like Garlic, Onion, whatever they smelled like. Make sure you say A BIT, don't make it sound so bad. Make it sound better than what it is.
  • Right after you tell him/her, offer a solution. Give him/her some gum if you have some, or better yet, offer him/her some tic tacs.
  • Right after that, he/she will be a bit embarrassed and hurt. So to take that feeling away from him/her, tell him/her that you are going to the bathroom, and ask him/her to dance with you again, because you just love to dance with him/her.
  • Compliment him/her on his/her dancing before you go to the bathroom.
  • Go to the bathroom, you don't need to, but GO. This is so the person looks for a solution for the breath, this is to give the person sometime to look for gum, or something. If they do care about themselves they'll look for a solution. If they still have bad breath after, then at least you tried.
  • After you are back from the bathroom, look for that person and ask him/her to dance again. You'll make his/her night by doing so.
  • At the end, you did your good deed for the night. He/She doesn't have bad breath anymore, and you didn't make them feel bad by letting him/her know about it.

IF IT'S YOU

If you go to a club or a dance event, make sure you do take something with you that will prevent bad breath. If you went to eat, then take some tic tacs or mint gum with you, and take it before entering the club.

Sometimes you don't know you have bad breath, so just do this every time you go out dancing. It's just safer that way.
  • Right out the car, and before the club or dance, make sure you take something just in case.
  • It works even better if you use mouth wash at home. Now days there is also those little Cool Mint Pocket Packs mouth wash that melt in your mouth, they are wonderful and amazing.
  • If you don't have any, make sure you ask the bartender for some gum or mint, most of them have them.
  • If someone happens to tell you that you have bad breath, then don't take it offensive or let it ruin your night. No matter how rude they are. Hopefully they used my advise, and told you in a nice way.
  • If that's the case, then as soon as they told you, go get something to fix it.
  • If gum, tic tacs or pocket wash is not available anywhere in sight. Then Rootbeer works wonders too.
  • If the bar doesn't carry any of those, then water is always the last resort.
  • Last, don't take it bad if someone tells you. Take it as a wonderful tip to make you better for the night. I know I always want someone to tell me if I have bad breath.

Hope that helps to all ya'll who have gone through some of this circumstances like me. And don't forget, keep on dancing!
