It's almost like a soulmate don't you think?
When you are down and lonely, it cheers you right up. When you are bored, it brings all the fun and
excitement. Just thinking about it makes you so happy. You wish everyone in the universe could be as
happy, and spreading the joy is not as hard as it may seem.
Salsa is at it's highest peak right now... WORLDWIDE, everyone is getting into it now days. New clubs
are opening, more and more dancers are surfacing from nowhere. It's almost like a paradise in a Salseros
mind. Just by going clubbing, you are already helping the scene grow more and more. But do you ever
wonder on how you can help more? Do you feel the need to spread this awesome way of living more
than just that?
For starters, take lessons from local instructors, whatever you learn, teach all your friends to do it
too. Convince more and more friends to take classes with you, that way they'll show others too. Remember
the bigger the scene, the better events we'll have around town.
Purchase some nice dancing clothes to go dancing in, and buy some CD's, so you can practice your moves at
home. To learn even more, buy some instructional videos from famous dancers, and if there is a workshop
coming up near you, invite everyone you can think of, besides it will be funner if you go with friends.
Another way to help the scene grow more, try to go to every Salsa related event in your community. Whenever
there is a live band playing at a club, go and support the band. If there is local dancers who are
teaching at a studio, club, store or even their house, support them by atending their special
events. Be even more helpful, offer to help, either by spreading flyers or
helping set up the place.
Now, if you are really daring, have your own event! Whether it's a workshop or a party with a live band,
have it be carefully constructed and organized. For a workshop, ask for local dancers help. For a party,
either rent out a club or another place that's big enough, make sure you have everything you need like
drinks, lights, music and even a band if possible. You are already helping by hiring a dj and a band too. You
can also server food sometimes, but that's a bit harder. The best is to make it unique, add some
creative adeas on how to better your Salsa community with that event. For example, little mini contests,
concerts and stuff like that is always good.
Just remember, the best parties have the best advertisement. If you are thinking about it, remember to advertise
EVERYWHERE! have fun searching and showing off.
