Great people in our Salsa scene in Utah deserve to be recognized. Once in a while we will put our Salsa shoes
aside, turn off the Salsa music, and profile someone involved in the Utah Salsa community. These are interviews
done via phone, internet, or even in person. This is a way to let people know who is involved in the Salsa scene

He has been dancing since he was 5 years old back in Havana Cuba. He made a huge impact when he came to Salt Lake bringing with him a whole wave of L.A. style salsa to the scene. Still considered one of the best, if not the top salsero of the state, Olvis El Cubano Ortega comes and gives us an interview.

A shocking hit to the Southern parts of the region regarding Salsa has been Felix Zurita. A true original and a great supporter to all Salsa events from the very first of our scene.

One of the first Salseras of the state was Jessica Kumori, she has been teaching Salsa longer than any other instructor in the state of Utah. It is safe to say that she was here since the very beginning of Salsa in Utah.

Latin percussionist, drummer and studio musician. He has been playing professionally for more than twenty years in the scene inside and outside of Utah. He now comes under our Profiles with an unbelieveable humbleness and originality. Ricardo, the leader of Mambo Jumbo.

GDL MUSIC
With only a few years of experience but a reputation to prove they belong up there with the top djs of the state, GDL has jumped the charts in what people want in the Salsa scene. They are one of the selected djs to play at local universities, and are requested again and again because of their selection of Salsa.

He started back in Colombia when he was a young boy in the Salsa scene, and now he has the attitude, experience, and salsa selection like no other in the state.
